Kannamwar Nagar, Mumbai: MHADA transit camp redevelopment - nothing on offer right now

Kannamwar Nagar in Vikhroli East is one of the largest things MHADA has on its books anywhere in Mumbai, and almost none of it is built yet. Its scheme redevelops the existing transit camp into 1,041 transit tenements of about 269 sq ft, 1,950 EWS tenements of about 301 sq ft, 224 MIG tenements of about 480 sq ft and 69 shops. MHADA's own status line is that 60 transit tenements and 6 shops are in progress and the balance - the rest of the transit, all the EWS and all the MIG - has not started. Meanwhile the existing societies redevelop building by building with MHADA's approval; Kannamwar Nagar Priyadarshani CHS and building 59, Ganesh CHS, are two on record. Nothing here is on sale from MHADA today, and EWS and transit tenements are allotted rather than advertised in any case.
