Where Type-D is, and how to get there
Inside New Transport Nagar; the colony's location applies
- Part-1 site: KDA's revised layout of New Transport Nagar at Panki Bhausing and Jamoi shows the scheme between the 76 m wide bypass road (marked 'To Bhauti' one way and 'To Rooma' the other, with a 21 m service road) and an existing 24 m road, with Vill. Jamoi, Ispat/Vyapar Nagar and Vill. Panki Gangaganj across that road, the Pandu river on the far side and a solid waste disposal plant at Vill. Panki Bhausing along one edge.
- Part-II site: KDA's revised layout of New Transport Nagar Part-II, Panki Bhausing, runs along the 76 m wide bypass, marked 'To Allahabad' at one end and 'To Delhi' at the other, with a fire station at one end. A note says an electric sub-station and a police station were placed at a corner towards the Pandu nadi by order of the VC.
- Part-3 site: KDA's layout of New Transport Nagar Part-3, villages Panki Bhosing and Gangaganj, lies between the 76 m bypass and the 60 m wide Kalpi Road, with an IOC bottling plant and an RTO office plot (12,150 sq m) beside it and Part-2 across the bypass.
- Metro (UPMRC official list): UPMRC's official Kanpur station list shows 14 open stations, all on one line from IIT Kanpur to Kanpur Central (IIT Kanpur, Kalyanpur, SPM Hospital, Vishwavidyalaya, Gurudev Chauraha, Geeta Nagar, Rawatpur, LLR Hospital, Motijheel, Chunni Ganj, Naveen Market, Bada Chauraha, Naya Ganj, Kanpur Central). UPMRC's locality search returns no match for 'panki', 'tatya', 'transport', 'naubasta', 'barra', 'sakrapur' or 'gujaini', so UPMRC does not assign a nearest station to any of these three places.
- Not the same as 'Transport Nagar' metro station (secondary): Amar Ujala (25 May 2022) reported that the 'Transport Nagar' underground metro station on UPMRC's Corridor-1 is being built near Juhi Naharia chauraha on Jhakarkati Road. That is the older Transport Nagar in central-south Kanpur, not KDA's New Transport Nagar at Panki. The station is not on UPMRC's open-station list read today.

Is Type-D KDA Kanpur approved?
It is Kanpur Development Authority's own scheme: the authority develops it and sells it.
Are these plots for transport businesses only?
KDA's layouts call them 'agency plots' in a transport nagar, and the auction lists them as commercial. KDA's auction pages read for this research do not spell out which trades are allowed; read the scheme terms or ask KDA before bidding if your use is not transport.
Does 'Type-A' mean the same size everywhere?
No. In Part-1 and Part-3 Type A is 20 x 50 m (1,000 sq m); in Part-II Type A is 30 x 60 m (1,800 sq m) and lots on the portal go to 2,031.9 sq m. Always read the area on the lot, not the type letter.
What did KDA ask per sq m?
Minimum reserve was ₹32,000 per sq m in October 2024 and February 2025 and ₹38,000 per sq m in July-August 2026, for every lot regardless of phase or type. The price you pay is the winning bid, and EMD is 10% of reserve x area in 2026.
Is New Transport Nagar near the 'Transport Nagar' metro station?
No. That underground station is being built near Juhi Naharia chauraha on Jhakarkati Road (Amar Ujala, 2022), in the older Transport Nagar. New Transport Nagar is at Panki Bhausingh on the bypass, and UPMRC's official list shows no open station mapped to it.
Why is the same scheme auctioned again and again?
KDA's own December 2024 list still counted 276 vacant plots after the 2024 rounds, and lots were re-offered in February 2025 and July 2026. KDA has not published auction results, so how many sold in each round is not known.
